Our endocrine surgery division is full of firsts!

Dr. Kandil recently performed the country’s first hospital OR-based nanosecond pulsed field ablation (nsPFA) at LCMC Lakeside Hospital, using technology developed by Pulse Biosciences, Inc.

Such a procedure was used to deliver non-thermal ablation to eliminate benign thyroid nodules without open incisions or damage to nearby structures, advancing progress towards minimally invasive treatment for thyroid disease. Read more about the milestone here.
